Published purpose

This project seeks to improve the physical and economic security of returning refugees between the ages of 15 and 28 in Kajo-Keji, South Sudan. The project consists of creating a technical section at the Lire Secondary School to provide youth with technical and vocational training in areas such as geometrical construction, manufacturing of construction materials, computer science, secretarial studies, agro-forestry, and business entrepreneurship. Internships and post-conflict trauma counselling services are also offered. As a result of this project, 175 youth are furthering their education and gaining new skills that enable them to find employment opportunities. As part of the private sector development in the region, the Lire Secondary School is becoming a demonstration and distribution site for building materials and its computer and Internet lab is available to the community.
