Published purpose

The project aims to improve the health of men and women living in eight rural communities of returning refugees and internally displaced peoples (IDPs) in Equatoria through the provision of clean water. It also educates the communities in health and sanitation practices, and builds the capacities necessary for water pump maintenance and repair. The HOPE International Development Agency's local partner, the Sudan Development and Relief Agency (SUDRA), improves its design and management of water projects through a south-to-south exchange with HOPE Ethiopia. SUDRA continues to work with the communities to increasingly participate in other development activities such as agriculture, education or economic development projects.
