Published purpose
This project is to develop print and on-line resources for use in social studies and language arts classrooms across Canada, and support their use through professional development workshops. The multi-faceted teaching resource aims to increase students' knowledge of and empathy for people in developing countries. A key component of this project is the infusion of critical thinking to help students acquire the intellectual tools needed to thoughtfully read and learn from literature. This resource, available across Canada, is linked to provincial curricula.
