Published purpose
The project’s main thrust is to transfer know-how in implementing and applying training programs developed based on the principles of the skills-based approach (SBA). Training institutions, identified by the Ministry of Vocational Training and Education, experiment in implementing programs in four training areas where skilled labour is in high demand. These areas are the same as those targeted in the experimental project: refrigeration and air conditioning, graphic arts and industries, automotive maintenance, and water management. The project proposes to pursue the implementation of vocational training programs with a view to generalizing the SBA in the vocational training sector, in order to meet the needs and expectations of the workplace. The Canadian Executing Agency is the Consortium for International Development in Education (CIDE).
