Published purpose

The third phase of Canada's support to the development of an agri-insurance system in Ukraine aims to develop sufficient local institutional and human resource capacity to sustain a fully functioning, transparent and financially viable system for agricultural insurance in this country. It focuses on completing the transfer of knowledge and know-how to the Ukrainian stakeholders. These stakeholders include the insurance companies that form the newly created Agri-Insurance Pool, in charge of operating the system (management of the data base, development of new insurance products, etc.), and their government partners who are responsible for regulating the sector. The project also contributes to the completion of the regulatory framework for agricultural insurance and supports the participation of producers in the state subsidy agricultural insurance program.
