Published purpose

The old and rare books collection of the Centre d’accès à l’information juridique includes 30,765 published before 1901, with the oldest dating back to the 16th century. This project aims to slow the deterioration of old and rare books by cleaning them and restoring selected works of incalculable heritage value. It also aims to make parts of Quebec’s and Canada’s legal heritage accessible by digitizing specific works for future inclusion in a virtual exhibition.
