Council of Yukon First Nations

Published purpose

The Council of Yukon First Nations (CYFN) Archives Access Project application for the 2022-23 DHCP focuses on the completion of finding aids for records created by the CYFN predecessor organizations that founded and led the Yukon First Nations land claims movement from circa 1968 to circa 1983: YNB – Yukon Native Brotherhood (184+ boxes) and YANSI – Yukon Association of Non-Status Indians (61+ boxes). The 2022-23 project will also include records from the predecessor land claims negotiation organization CYI – Council for Yukon Indians (65+ boxes related to the Leadership and Implementation Planning series), and the CYFN – Yukon Native Language Centre Indigenous Language Preservation series (50+ boxes).
