Published purpose

The project will build, pilot test and demonstrate prototypes of a novel multilateral junction tool (MJT) for use in hydraulic fracturing of tight and shale hydrocarbon formations. Our innovative clean oil and gas technology aims to develop jobs for Canadians and simultaneously greening energy production and and eliminating fugitive emissions. Normally, one vertical wellbore is required to drill each horizontal lateral. However, multilateral junctions allow multiple horizontal laterals to be drilled from the same vertical wellbore, avoiding the incremental cost of multiple vertical wellbores and associated service facilities. This results in dramatic cost and GHG emissions reductions.
