Elkan Environmental Engineering (Business name of 1489344Alberta Ltd.) provides environmental engineering, consulting, and wastewater effluent design. This project will prototype a 10-20 m3 BEAST reactor with National Research Council (NRC) to test the functionality of proprietary electrode technology by determining output effluent quality versus hydraulic retention time, while monitoring the amount of methane generated from the process. Additional features will include a backwashing system design of an electrode washing system. Benefits to the customer include low cost, low energy, simple to operate system for small municipal wastewater systems, specifically in cold climates.
