Published purpose

The focus of the project is the exploration, development and prototyping of a phase array modules at 28GHz and 39GHz comprising active RF transmit and receive (TRx) functionality compliant with the 5G New Radio (NR) 3GPP specification currently under final development. The modules will integrate into one radio frequency (RF) assembly the integrated circuit functionality, packaging and antenna elements to enable communications at the 28GHz or 39GHz bands using bidirectional beams of electro-magnetic signals. These TRx modules will form part of a millimeter-wave (mm-Wave) radio subsystem for both small cell base station networks and user equipment (UE) devices such as smart phones and virtual/augmented reality systems.
