Published purpose
The project is a design of a Steel Catenary Riser (SCR) tensioner, a device that will reduce the absolute motions of the riser hang-off point. The reduced motions will minimize the cyclic loads at the riser, greatly reducing the riser fatigue damage and ultimate stresses.
