Published purpose

Alternatives to synthetic animal leather are known for several decades. Often called leatherette, these products are composed of polyurethane or polyvinyl chloride. However, they offer little or no “breathability.” These products, consisting of a textile and plastic assembly are non-recyclable or bio-decomposable. REVEL proposes entirely plant as an alternative to the animal leather (therefore compostable), which reproduces the feeling and the performance of the animal leather by a vapour permeability of water and impermeability equivalent to leather. The visual aspect will also be reproduced. The principle is based on the combination of a substrate textile viscose derived plant fibre combined with a membrane.
