Area 51 is proposing to develop a pressure control device that will be able to reduce the pressure of an expandable gas from a relatively high pressure to a relatively low pressure without causing the Joule-Thomson Effect in an appreciable amount and thereby avoid the large temperature drop associated with conventional pressure reducing valves.
