Published purpose
Clinical adoption of cell-based treatments is hampered due to the complexity of cell and tissue based therapies compared with small molecules and other drugs, uncertainty in treatment outcomes, a cautious and evolving regulatory process, and lack of proven models of transnational research. We have previously developed an innovative multidisciplinary decision model and value of information analysis framework for cell-based immunotherapies to guide investment decisions in regenerative medicine and inform emerging regulatory frameworks. The goal is to target all manufacturing models of cell-based therapies (autologus and allogeneic) which have proven difficult to successfully translate into marketable product.
