Published purpose

The project will create an acoustic transmitter and receiver that is able to produce high power output while conforming to a very narrow tube. The imaging array that will be created from this project will look through solid rock to a range of 50 to 75 meters. The array will be used to map sub surface fractures that will be used in evaluating water disposal from the oil fracking industry and for the sequestering of c02 in the earth. Currently there is no known way to image natural fractures that exist in the rock when they are remote from the bore hole. The system can also find such things as tunnels , sub sea bottom mines etc.
