Published purpose

CUI (corrosion under insulation) is a driver for 40-60% failures in the process piping and requires state of art measures to minimize its probability alongwith financial and environmental impacts resulting from piping failures. CUI mitigation requires the multi-layered approach to minimize moisture activity in a closed insulation system. This project will enable testing for three moisture barrier products (Inspection pugs, drain plugs, spacers) as per provisions of industry standards such as ASTM. With test data and quantified value-addition, the firm will be able to convince hydrocarbon operators to use their value-adding products on pipelines/ piping assets. Also, test data will help improve industry standards and publish technical papers.
