Published purpose
Trade promotions by the manufacturers assume a variety of forms such as temporary price reductions, loyalty points, rebates, features, and displays at retailers that carry manufacturer’s products. The trade promotion planning problem has long been recognized by manufacturers and academic researchers. However, the progress has been constrained until recent years because of various complexities as well as limitations of existing data infrastructure and Analytics technology. This project involves developing data curation processes and pipelines in order to better assess and understand the data ecosystem in view of applying, in a subsequent phase of this endeavour, state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques to advance the trade promotion solution.
