Published purpose

The proposed project will address printable technology to implement metamaterial based RF lenses to enhance the performance of antennas used in broadband satellite communications systems. Composite Right-Hand Left-Hand Transmission Lines (CRHLH) will be used to add re-configurability to the proposed lenses. New printable technologies making use of electrically smart materials based on ferro-electric and ferro-magnetic printable inks are proposed. The RF lenses will add additional layers of control to the antenna by re-shaping the radiation pattern while adding agility against operational and environmental conditions.
