Published purpose
This project will develop a solar powered uncrewed surface vehicle (USV) that is optimized for ease-of-use through the creation of an obstacle avoidance system and modular oceanographic sensor platform. Obstacle avoidance enables the USV to conduct missions with increased safety and with minimal intervention, making it possible to conduct endurance operations of multiple months and navigate in crowded waterways, which significantly grows our market for USV sales and mission-as-a-service offerings. An easy-to-use platform for diverse sensor integration of hardware and software components enables the USV to collect and transmit data from a broad range of sensors significantly expanding the utility of the USV and its customer base.
