Published purpose
In the current proposal, SIRT and MRC Studio are seeking funding to assist and prepare small and medium enterprises to be able to develop and integrate augmented reality and virtual reality applications for their business environments. With the projected growth of global virtual and augmented reality markets (VR and AR), technology, services, and solutions companies throughout multiple sectors are grappling with how to expand their businesses through creation of an innovative market niche within VR and AR. This includes media and entertainment, IT, health services, retailers, live event, and education and training companies to name just a few. Though larger organizations are adopting AR and VR, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) face barriers such as lack of awareness, expertise, and resources to develop these environments. There are multiple sectors that we will be addressing but some of the highlighted ones will be lm, television and gaming as well as IT and Healthcare, which will be getting benefit at all stages of the research and commercialization spectrum through this collaboration. MRC Studio and SIRT will work with the companies to develop AR/VR solutions to ensure how Canada’s SMEs can take advantage of market opportunities in these areas.
