Published purpose
Program: Canada – Germany collaborative industrial research and development program 2019, Call 2 Project acronym: HYPOD The project goal is to develop an airborne system to detect and locate small pipeline leaks that have recently percolated to the surface and produced a detectable saturated spot for different soil types and various environmental conditions. Hyperspectral imaging data analysis will be used to detect crudes and refined products leaks. To improve the reliability of hyperspectral imaging and reduce the false alarm rate, the hyperspectral detection algorithm will be further enhanced by making use of various Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm. The hyperspectral leak detection data will be compared with data gathered from an extremely sensitive UV active LiDAR LDS and data reconciled to develop accelerated training scenarios for the AI.
