Published purpose
The proposed Virtual Test Range (VTR) is an innovative simulator for Detect and Avoid (DAA) systems. Its key components, some of which can be real and others simulated, are the ownship Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), intruder aircraft, DAA sensors, ground control station (GCS) and air-traffic control (ATC).
