Published purpose
The LineSpider is an installation robot that will be able to address the automated placement of bird flight diverters (crawling up a slope) on guy wires that support most metrological, communication, and cellular towers. BFD's are a deterrent device that alert birds to the presence of these wires, significantly reducing mortality.
