Published purpose

EUREKA Spain – UAVAMSAR 15106 with WAKE Engineering S.L. (Spain, partner) and Deep Vision (Canada, lead): The core of the project involves the development and commercialization of an innovative airborne system to assist in maritime search and rescue operations. A fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fitted with unique perception technology will be developed. This UAV will be able to navigate in harsh marine environmental conditions, implement a search pattern, autonomously locate people and wreckage in the water, and alter its flight path to keep the object of interest in sight. The UAV’s behaviour within its mission will not be dependent on remote control or human interpretation of video feedback; it will be fully autonomous.
