Published purpose
Human space operations will include many demanding tasks, time-consuming and dangerous repetitive tasks for astronauts can be offloaded to robot assistants. Activities like space station repair, monitoring and maintenance and inventory making can be passed along from crew members to free-flying or humanoid robots. Teleoperated robotic arms can augment human capabilities and enable operators to perform difficult tasks in harsh environments. Columbiad is developing the next generation Mixed Reality command and control station for teleoperated robots. The objective of this project is to design and build a 3D Printed robotic systems to to augment and expand human capabilities and human utility.
