Published purpose

This proposed work forms part of the Quantum Photonic Integrated Circuits for Quantum Interconnects Small Teams, Round 2 project which aims to develop a chip-based platform where entangled photons can be generated and distributed between nodes in a quantum network. Using nanowire-based quantum dots fully integrated on a chip manufactured in the silicon nitride material platform. In this collboration, specific circuits will be designed as required for the implementation of quantum key distribution protocols for the Small Teams project, including BB84, MDI-QKD and E91/BBM92. These circuits will be fabricated on chip and their overall performance will be evaluated and compared to other approaches (e.g. weak coherent pulses).
