Published purpose

OPASS software suite will facilitate pilot-friendly Autonomous Underwater Vehicle guidance/navigation simulator useful for pilot training, mission planning and mission completion. This simulator will be a significant step forward in terms of providing mission specialists with the capacity to deploy their AUVs with a much greater degree of confidence and cost efficiency in achieving ocean research mission objectives. Featuring rich environmental data displays, it will accurately simulate at-sea conditions without vehicle risk. The research and development work considered within this project is still directly related to early stage R&D feasibility to determine if real time environmental data can be synthesized into finite blocks of software code and then combined with instructional navigation coding in a manner that facilities an accurate simulation tool.
