Published purpose

Development of new continuous flow technology to replace our current batch process to make our silicone polyethers. Our current batch production is a multistep process that requires long cycle times (72 hrs) to complete all steps. It utilizes large reactors and processing vessels, requires large volume of solvents and is energy inefficient. With a Contiflow it is our objective to reduce cycle times to 24 hrs, reduce the use of solvents by 50% or eliminate them. The Contiflow Process in tubular reactors is expected to cut the energy consumption by at least 50 % as well as reduce the generated material waste. Additional important benefits are a safer plant operation and a more consistent product quality.
