Published purpose

As part of the international consortium project SRAIR, this project will focus on providing a service for automatically detecting traffic accidents in real time. As SmartRoads integrates with a variety of data sources including inductive loops data, floating car data (FCD), and camera footage, the service will be able to provide accident detection on a wide range of roads in municipalities of every size. An AI model will be trained with machine learning techniques to detect whether an accident is the cause of a traffic congestion. An alert system will be integrated in a user-friendly environment (dashboard) and made available via an interface to road authorities, operators and market parties.
