Published purpose

ASI seeks to investigate the market demand for a remotely operated system that can be used to maintain underwater infrastructure. Large municipalities increasingly use large diameter, underground storage systems to help alleviate discharge of untreated effluent into open, public bodies of water. Large diameter intakes and outfalls service all conventional power plants (hydro, nuclear, carbon based fuels). For over 30 years, ASI has developed a successful business of inspecting these types of assets with frequent requests to assist with repairs of defects that are identified. ASI has completed smaller intervention projects but larger assets require a larger, more capable machine that this project is meant to identify.
