Published purpose
As part of the international consortium project “Eurostars 2256 SustainableSole”, TerraVerdae BioWorks Inc. in collaboration with KUORI GmbH (Switzerland), University of Northwestern Switzerland (Switzerland), and Wildling Shoes GmbH (Germany) will develop a biobased and biodegradable shoe sole material based on polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) biopolymer and food industry waste streams. This will act as a replacement for conventional shoe sole materials, which have detrimental impact on the environment during their use phase (microplastics) and especially at their end of lifetime. The goal of this project is to built up the production process and value chain and bring the shoe sole to the market.
