Published purpose

This project entails the design and operation of a hydromet pilot demo plant for processing magnesium ore at the rate of 10 kg per hour from the company’s RR deposits. The project builds on the successful bench test works that resulted in the development and optimization of the process flowsheet. The pilot project consists of 5 stages: grinding, HCl acid leaching, PLS oxidation and Fe/Ni precipitation, MgCl2 purification, and SiO2 refining. The project is divided into 3 major milestones: 1. Performing bench scale confirmatory tests towards identifying operational conditions of the pilot. 2. Continuously running a 10-day pilot scale testing to process approximately 2.5 tons of RR ore 3. Refining and production of high purity silica
