Published purpose

The primary aim is to evaluate the feasibility of a biogas plant utilizing food waste and sewage water, with a two-fold purpose. First, to ascertain if adequate waste volume exists to sustain an Arctic-adapted biogas plant. Second, to quantify the combined impact of landfill waste and discarded of food on water quality within the Beaufort Delta region through water sampling and comparative studies in tandem, we aim to advance the bioelectrochemical anaerobic sewage treatment (BEAST) and Leachate Bed Reactor (LBR) concept configuration. This innovative approach seeks to optimize biogas production while tackling water contamination from landfill pollution.
