Published purpose
As part of the international consortium project “MediFEMTO: Advanced 3D fs Laser Surface Treatment for Orthopedic Prostheses", this project will focus on * Orthopedic advances aim to improve outcomes and reduce rejection rates. A machine integrates 5 mechanical axes with 3 optical ones for 3D surface treatment, minimizing bacterial attachment on prostheses. Implant-related infections pose challenges. The fs laser system offers a solution. Partners contribute crucial expertise and technology. Our new software enables advanced laser-based manufacturing, with a machine tool digital twin allowing virtual usage before construction. Advanced feedback control and calibration optimize precision, with real-time computing enhancing performance.
