Published purpose

Phase 3 of the amaranth commercialization project includes the following elements: 1) Implementation of recyclable flow wrap material and product packaging in preparation for Q1-2025 product launch. 2) Increase scale of amaranth popping system for higher scale production. 3) Purchase, implementation and training of new semi-automated Selmi cluster machine. 4) Completion of 2024 field trial testing of amaranth at Luna Mia farm near Owen Sound, with focus on varietal of seeds, harvesting, cleaning and drying techniques in preparation for scaling to approximately 10 acres in 2025 of local sustainable agriculture. Project objective will include trial testing of harvest technology, cleaning and drying processes, and use of cover crops.
