Published purpose

This work will engage two Yukon First Nation (YFN) communities to identify desired outcomes and concerns surrounding wastewater and environmental monitoring (WEM). WEM can provide non-invasive, anonymous population health data addressing limited availability of clinical health data for YFN. A comprehensive research and development plan will be produced, focusing on health-related challenges identified by YFN communities. Consultation with YFN decision-makers and community members will highlight barriers to WEM implementation including infrastructure and capacity to ensure longterm program sustainability. Insights gained will be applied to develop a broader and more involved proposal to enhance health and societal outcomes for other Northern communities.
