Published purpose

This collaboration will fulfill an urgent public health gap by developing “ARIADNE” (platform for Accelerated and pRecisIon pAndemic Diagnostics and iNfection hEalth), a novel de-centralized molecular analytical tool for deployment in “non-expert” care settings for timely stratification and triage of patients. The proof of-principle work will target sepsis, a complex and heterogeneous life-threatening dysregulated response to infection that rapidly progresses to multiorgan failure and death when not identified and treated appropriately. The ultimate aim is to facilitate appropriate and informed care by providing critical information regarding immune response subtypes that will inform patient triage and therapeutics and triage. Previously identified sepsis biomarkers will be refined and codified using new generation ML algorithms for use in rapid testing at the point of need.
