Published purpose
Phase 1 (this project): Develop a simplified model/tool to simulate energy use of a building and loads within and to also simulate on site energy production and storage by various means of a specific industrial building (1 test case) and test/compare against a detailed digital twin TRNSYS model of the building, loads, generation and storage as proof of concept. The digital twin TRNSYS model of the same test case is being developed in partnership with our NSERC funded University of Guelph research team. Beyond this project, Phase 2 will involve making the model/tool into a general/universal model for any situation that can be used to select the most optimal energy system for a building.
