Published purpose
The Project delivers the missing infrastructure for distributed quantum sensing over kilometer baselines. Ki3 Photonics will build, test, and validate a fiber-based quantum sensing backbone that spans kilometers and supports the low-jitter propagation of quantum and/or clock signals. The NRC will realize a multi-baseline, fast-timing interferometry testbed with common-clock distribution, calibrated quasi-thermal sources, and real-time correlation analysis. Jointly, the Project team will develop the stabilization infrastructure. The Project delivers a globally-unique infrastructure for distributed quantum sensing that aligns fully with the Quantum Sensors Challenge, drives Canadian innovation, and supports the development of next-generation sensing and imaging systems.
