Published purpose

Canada’s AgeTech ecosystem has grown rapidly but remains highly dispersed. Knowledge generated across programs such as AGE-WELL and the NRC’s Aging in Place (AiP) Challenge program is difficult to find, access, and apply, creating fragmentation and barriers to scaling solutions that improve quality of life for older adults and caregivers. This two-year pilot will co-design, test, and launch a knowledge mobilization platform that consolidates AGE-WELL and AiP outputs including design standards, evaluation frameworks, policy briefings, and impact metrics into a single, searchable hub for the AgeTech ecosystem. Co-created with the key interested parties within Canada’s AgeTech ecosystem older adults and their caregivers, industry partners and SMEs, academics and the research community, health and social care system collaborators, and policy and decision makers, the platform will bring together the existing AGE-WELL and AiP networks within a Community of Practice model that leverages AGE-WELL’s decade of ecosystem-building experience. By leveraging AGE-WELL’s national network, collaborating partners will embed AiP and AGE-WELL outputs into a sustainable, lasting infrastructure—a legacy resource to accelerate AgeTech innovation across Canada and ensure continued knowledge sharing and platform evolution beyond the pilot phase.
