This project aims to boost autonomy, resilience, and equity among cattle ranching families within specific regions of Guatemala and Mexico and, with additional technical cooperation from Argentina and Costa Rica. It seeks to empower cattle ranching families, especially women, youth, and Indigenous Peoples, to adapt to climate challenges and promote sustainability and inclusivity. The project seeks to empower local communities to improve sustainable livestock management practices and climate change adaptation, integrating remote sensing technology as a key tool to effectively monitor and manage these challenges using a citizen science approach. . This approach not only democratizes data usage but also ensures that adaptations are precisely attuned to the needs and conditions of local environments. Project activities include: (1) conducting a climate needs assessment; (2) creating citizen science groups; (3) integrating satellite monitoring; (4) designing a user-friendly digital platform; (5) facilitating sustainable practices; and (6) influencing policymaking.
