This project aims to achieve more equal enjoyment of health and health rights for marginalized women and girls in fragile contexts in Haiti and Cameroon. The project seeks to empower displaced people and survivors of sexual and gender-based violence in the Mayo-Tsanaga and Mayo-Sava districts of Cameroon’s Far North region and the Gressier and Léogâne communes in Haiti’s Ouest department. The project uses an innovative feminist Triple Nexus approach to strengthen the resilience of health systems and communities to cope with the crises affecting the targeted areas. Project activities include: (1) training health personnel to improve the quality and safety of health services that meet the needs of women and girls; (2) renovating and equipping health care facilities in a sustainable way to make them more inclusive and resilient to crises; (3) supporting community workers in promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights and mental health services for displaced people and survivors of sexual and gender based violence; (4) developing training programs for community mediators on participatory justice and conflict prevention and resolution; and (5) carrying out advocacy actions on the health rights of women and girls to encourage greater sexual and reproductive justice.
