Objet publié
This project seeks to reduce security threats related to the misuse of Virtual Assets (VA) for Canadians, and affects populations, particularly women and girls in beneficiary countries in Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Belize. The project will assist the beneficiary countries in addressing gaps in the implementation of the 2019 revised Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Standards in order to strengthen their national safety and security from VA-facilitated crime and contribute to the regional and global Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) regime. Practical training will be provided for law enforcement officers on, notably, the investigation of cryptocurrency-enabled money laundering, as well as mentoring and legislative assistance.
