This project aims to support efforts to reduce illicit drug and arms trade between Jamaica and Haiti that is used to finance and support transnational organized crime by increasing the capacity of the Jamaican Constabulary Force – Special Weapons and Tactics unit (JCF-SWAT) to target and intercept criminal gangs conducting illicit activities. Project activities include: (1) delivering training on tactical marine operations; (2) strengthening skills in vessel interception, boarding, and detention procedures; (3) promoting gender-responsive approaches to maritime security operations; and (4) enhancing operational knowledge through scenario-based exercises and practical training. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) implements this project.
