This project supports the International Program for Development Education Training (IPDET), a four-week executive training program in development education for evaluators from developing countries. The IPDET is held annually at Carleton University from mid-June to mid-July. It aims to improve the measurement, monitoring and evaluation of development assistance, and to build the foundations for more transparent and accountable governance, as well as for improved development effectiveness. The IPDET provides managers and practitioners with the generic tools they require to evaluate development policies, programs, and projects at local, national, regional, and global levels. The project provides annual scholarships for key decision-makers from developing country governments and non-governmental organizations; co-sponsors regional IPDET training sessions in the field; and supports the delivery of an innovative, distance-coaching program to support graduates after the training. IPDET is managed jointly by Carleton University and the World Bank Group’s Independent Evaluation Group.
