This project represents a second CIDA contribution to the Labour Intensive Local Development Programme. In its second phase, the program continues to fund infrastructure and protection initiatives, but with greater emphasis on the developmental impact of new and rehabilitated infrastucture and productive resources (terraces, marshland). The program has strengthened the component of complementary training provided to individuals and farmer organizations (e.g. sustainable farming techniques), private sector enterprises, and local governments (e.g. managing labour intensive projects and maintaining infrastructure).
