This project strengthens the livelihood means of the “ultra-poor” (poorest of the poor) by providing them with assets such as grants, customized micro-enterprise development training, essential health care, and support from their fellow community members to bring them into the mainstream of their community. The project increases social and political support for pro-poor policies and enhances services and legal protection for the most vulnerable amongst the poor. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity for donors to learn more about innovative poverty alleviation approaches.
