This project aims to accelerate the transition to a green economy in Tunisia, while supporting gender equality and the empowerment of local women, youth and vulnerable populations in seven governorates in Tunisia over 5 years (2022-2027). The project seeks to increase the capacity of local institutions, stakeholders and policy-makers to effectively respond to the affects of climate change, catalyze private sector investments in climate action and green economy transition, and contribute to the provision of innovative financial services which can assist entrepreneurs, especially women micro-entrepreneurs, to become better adapted to climate change. Project activities include: (1) supporting knowledge generation on innovative financial tools; (2) providing technical support for strategy implementation; (3) advocating for carbon neutrality and green economy; and (4) supporting information dissemination, awareness-raising, and training of local actors on green economy and climate change concepts. The project will directly benefit 600 entrepreneurs, including 400 women micro-entrepreneurs, 40 central institutions and administrations, 20 decentralized institutions and administrations and 14 professional and civil society organizations.
