The IW-AR project will be centred around the development of a circumpolar northern Indigenous-based learning program. The project will use a web-based collection of learning resources and case studies to help reframe the current approach to Indigenous and Northern and Arctic youth engagement to include the voice of Indigenous peoples, in particular, youth, in Arctic discourse. To do so, the IW-AR project will develop a set of learning resources and workshops targeted towards policy makers and educators to better understand how to engage Arctic and Northern youth. The project will be presented in different content formats, such as case studies and multimedia stories. It will also be complemented by a range of practical and reflective workshops for a more comprehensive and innate understanding of the concepts presented and how they can be better applied. For Northern Peoples to be drawn to and see themselves in the work, the project will develop a website dedicated to IW-AR that will include learning resources and opportunities available to the Northern and Arctic audience. The project will also support Northern Peoples’ representation at local and global conferences where discussions on how making visible and acknowledging colonial structures are important to systems change, advancing reconciliation and improving relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
