This project enabled the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) to hold the conference “Leveraging Agriculture for Improving Nutrition and Health” in New Delhi, India, from February 10 to 12, 2011. The conference is one in a series of high-level dialogues that are convened periodically to examine key issues under the auspices of IFPRI’s “Vision 2020 Initiative”. Approximately 1,000 experts, including academics, civil society and private sector representatives as well as government officials, met in New Delhi to discuss the interactions among agriculture, nutrition and health. Participants helped to clarify how to strenthen the linkages between these three areas, shared best practices in policies and programs, and identified priorities to leverage agriculture for health and nutrition.
